Among the various projects linked to Global History Collaborative, we would like to point to the “Bondage and Environment” project dedicated to the hstory of bondage in Asia and the Ocean World.

This project explores the relationship between historical (since the Antiquity) and contemporary forms of servitude and human trafficking in the Afro-Eurasian Spaces within the context of socio-economic, institutional and specific environment interaction.

Axes

1. Human-Environment Interaction: The relationship between environmental factors, indebtedness and bondage.
2. Local Bondage in a Global Context: The interaction between local, regional and global forms of dependence.
3. Governments and Bondage in the Afro-Eurasian Worlds.
